A striking looking French doll, made by Etienne Denamur. He is dressed as a Jester, and could easily fit in your cabinet. He has a decent quality bisque. It is nice and pale in colouring. He has fixed blue paperweight eyes. He does have a firing fault to the rim of the head, which does NOT run into a hairline. It is hidden by his wig. The body is a 5 piece type. I have not undressed the doll, so cannot comment on its condition. These bodies were cheep quality, and it may well have flaking. The doll has all its fingers present. He has his original cork pate, and an original mohair wig. The clothing the doll wears is a copy of original outfits sometimes found on French dolls. The fabric may well be old, as it does not have a new look about it. He measures 39.5 cm to the top of his head.
